Incredible seat!!
I used the heavy plastic tub for my daughter when she was a baby and so when my son came along my boyfriend picked up this seat and me and my mom were skeptical about how well it would work. We have used this seat since the day my son came home from the hospital and it has been great. At 8 months old my son is still using it and loves it. It stays in place in the bath tub no sliding around. I have seen other reviews that stated that the baby sat awkward in this seat and I totally disagree my son sits kind of laying down angled up and he sits there without slipping around. He is an extremely active baby and yet he stays in the same spot with no slipping and can easily be flipped over and lay on his belly at the same angle to wash his backside. Also at 21 pounds and 28 3/4 inches long my baby still fits comfortably in this seat with no sagging down of the seat. Baby hates this product
I purchased this product as more of a "seat" for Baby, as we shower together. However, she hates this product. It gets cold quickly, and sits her in an awkward position. She just can't seem to get comfortable in it, despite multiple tries. We tried a bath instead of a shower to see if that was the problem, but she hated that, too!
The only thing this product excels at is staying in one place.
As another reviewer said, this product molds easily, especially the headpiece. Despite a thorough cleaning with Dreft, this product still smells.
It now sits in our storage room.
Not so easy to use with mid-sized babies
We received one of these bather seats from a friend and were eager to move our child into it from the hard molded baby tubs. We attempted this around the 7 month mark when our son was 17.5 pounds. Unfortunately, the seat just seemed to sag too much from his weight. Once the bather seat was wet, he just slid down the hammock to the very bottom, all scrunched up. He has trunk strength and the ability to roll over so it wasn't just that he wasn't holding himself; he did not wiggle in the seat to slide down, he just was unable to do anything to prevent it. Since their bottom is supposed to rest in the sling and their legs are supposed to dangle, he had nothing to rest his legs against to prevent the slide. This is a good idea, but has poor execution. I think the incline of the head and body are too steep for an infant, and the material may not be strong enough to support an older child.
