A Newborn Must Have!
I received a premium infant "spa" bath as a gift which included a cot-like attachment for the newborn phase. However, I still seemed to always have to use 1 hand to hold the head while bathing and because my baby's body was only half submerged I felt he was chilly despite the warm water. I looked into some other brands and nothing seemed too impressive, my Mom told me about these sponge cut-outs she used with us as babies. I found this brand and decided to try it out and it is the PERFECT solution! It craddles the baby and keeps his head in place and out of the water PLUS the sponge absorbes the warm bath water to keep his body warm while I bathe him, it turned bathime from a chore into one of his favorite activities! I use this in the infant tub, but could easily be used in a sink (my bathroom sink is too shallow otherwise this would be my preferred method) or placed in the bathtub. Not only is it an inexpesnive substitute for buying an infant tub but I would actually reccomend this...

Best Baby Bath
This is so much more cost effective and easy than a stupid plastic baby bath. I have been using this sponge in the bath tub since my baby was old enough to have a bath. She is a year now, and still uses it.
Some moms are afriad to put their small baby in the big tub. No need! Baby will stay right in place on the sponge. At first, just fill the tub up to the level of the sponge. This will give you enough water to clean the baby, but not so muh that it scares you.
I wring this product out every night after bathtime. I was afraid that it would tear, but it hasn't yet. It hasn't lost any of it's shape at all. It's just like it was when I could it almost a year ago.
Of all the newborn gear I bought, this was the BEST buy
When I was expecting my first baby I did quite a bit of research about gear-- I only wanted the absolute necessary items so that everything would fit in our very tiny apartment. The Summer Infant Comfy Bath Sponge has been the most useful item we bought (tied with the crib and stroller, I guess). I love that:
- When my baby was really small, I would fit it in the sink and bathe him lying down... much safer than using the tub. The plastic tubs and the slings on a frame wouldn't fit in the sink.
- It helps keep the slippery baby in place, and provides nice padding-- but leaves me elbow room. Tubs loose here too.
- Since the sponge gets lodged with water, baby doesn't get cold. And it doesn't float, so it stays in place.
- As the baby gets older, and starts moving more it keeps his head safely out of the water but his feet in where he can splash around.
- You can wring out most of the water in 10 seconds flat, hang it to dry over the curtain rod and by the...
