Great product, unreasonable price
This bath sponge is wonderful... I used it for my son. It is thick, soft, and I like the sunken in section for the baby. It is perfect to use during baby's first weeks when he isn't able to go in a baby tub yet... we stuck it right on top of the changing table for his sponge baths.
HOWEVER, $19.99 is an insane price. You can purchase it for $6 at Babies R Us.

highhly overpriced
I was somewhat pleased with this item but found it for a ridiculous low price withnanother carrier after I paid the higher price, there ought to be a law. 17.99 is quite a bit more than 6.99 I feel quite stupid. Be advised.....
Best baths for newborn.
When my 1st newborn came home, this product made bath time much more simple. I was told in birthing classes that newborns should be wiped down with soapy water and then wiped with a damp cloth for first baths. This should be done until the umbilical cord and circumcision areas are healed. The bath sponge made this perfectly possible.
Then the babies can be washed and rinsed on the infant netting on infant/baby tubs. Even then, it gave me a great surface to dry my son on. Eventually when my son was seated and submerge in the baby tub and in a bath seat I still used it for drying and lotioning.
It keeps everything dry. Although it is absorbent it dries quickly. It was one of those must haves. We used the bath sponge for 9 months because my son was tall and chunky (and in a size 18 mo) at this age. Other moms with smaller babies will be able to use this product for at least a year.
